Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT)

Cheshire Police prioritise community policing across the county to build relationships within communities and address issues before they become more serious. The county is divided into 122 community areas for local policing purposes. 

The Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) is a group of local police officers, police community support officers (PCSOs) and special constables dedicated to serving your community. The team is supported by additional officers from the wider area.

The SNTs aim to be highly visible and communicate with their communities by holding regular surgeries within the community, and via messages from the Cheshire Police Alert system, and dedicated Facebook pages. 

A strong link between NW Coordinators and local policing teams is essential to effectively tackle problems and reduce the fear of crime in neighbourhoods. Many SNT members deliver community safety information specific to their community areas directly to NW Coordinators via Alert, so that relevant information is cascaded quickly, and any actions can be taken by residents.
